The Exhibition announced for 2022

Attention all of you cryptozoologists, potion makers, and would-be Aurors, The Franklin Institute has announced that Harry Potter: The Exhibition is coming in 2022.

According to the organization’s official website, this groundbreaking exhibition will celebrate the iconic moments, characters, settings, and beasts as seen in the films and stories of Harry Potter and the Wizarding World using best-in-class immersive design and technology. From the mysteries of Hogwarts castle to the antics of its mischievous yet brilliant students; from daring duels to dragons and Dark Arts; from glittering Gringotts to the magnificent Ministry of Magic – the exhibition will bring magic to life, connect visitors with the larger global community of fans of the Wizarding World, and reveal the artistry and craftsmanship behind the blockbuster films.

As a part of this one-of-a-kind experience, visitors will get an up-close look at authentic props and original costumes from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films as they engage with innovative, awe-inspiring, and magical environments and installations in this: the most comprehensive touring exhibition ever presented about the Wizarding World.

Much like Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and the Marvel Universe, Harry Potter has cemented itself in pop culture history thanks to its enormous fanbase and expansive world of characters and stories. Located in Philidelphia, the Franklin Institute will launch the exhibition to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, written by J.K. Rowling. The book introduced generations to Harry Potter, a young wizard whose birthright leads him down a path of magic, mystery, and murderous magic-wielders. Rowling’s Harry Potter universe has grown exponentially since the first book was published in 1997, with the addition of more novels, spin-offs, video games, theme park attractions, and more. After its Philidelphia residency, Harry Potter: The Exhibition will make its way to Latin America, the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Make sure you visit the Franklin Institute website for more details, including how you can book your tickets ahead of other Muggles.
