See Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man Vs Electro In Tom Holland’s No Way Home

New artwork imagines Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker fighting Electro in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Ever since the news dropped months ago that Jamie Foxx would reprise his role as Electro in Tom Holland’s upcoming third solo film, fans began to speculate that we would be seeing a live-action take on the Spider-Verse. Once Alfred Molina was announced to return as Doc Ock, all bets were off at that point, leaving many fans believing that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are likely to reprise their roles as well.

In an impressive piece of fan art from Instagram user Jaxson Derr, we see an interesting concept. Tobey Maguire is shown in his ripped-up suit, reminiscent of his final confrontation with Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin in the 2002 Spider-Man origin film. He’s shown facing off what is looking to be a reimagined take on Electro, whom Jamie Foxx previously mentioned would not be blue like his 2014 counterpart.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are not confirmed to appear in No Way Home, but fans are still holding onto that hope, and art like this showcases the exciting possibilities of a live-action Spider-Verse.

Here is the synopsis for the previous Spider-Man film, Far From Home:

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks is quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks. Spider-Man and Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) join forces to fight the havoc unleashed across the continent but all is not as it seems.

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, Numan Acar, J.B. Smoove, Oli Hill, Remy Hii, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
