New ‘Loki’ Episode Finally Reveals Richard E. Grant’s Character

It sure was a mind-blowing reveal!

The latest episode of Loki finally reveals who Richard E Grant is playing.

THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR LOKI.

Last year it was revealed mid-way through production that British star Richard E Grant was joining the cast of Loki in a pivotal role. Details regarding Grant’s character were kept under wraps, likely because his role was a huge spoiler for the time-bending series. Grant’s character failed to make an appearance in the first three episodes of the show, which led to the hype surrounding his character build-up to unsurmountable amounts. With the fourth episode out, audiences finally know who Grant is playing.

As the episode came to an end, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki was “killed” by Renslayer shortly after Loki and Sylvie escaped the TVA and decapitated one of the Time Keeper robots. During the end credits scene, Loki wakes up and ponders if he’s dead and has arrived in hell. Rich E. Grant’s character – dressed up rather comically in the Classic Loki outfit stands alongside Kid Loki and Boastful Loki – tells the Hiddleston’s version that he should come with them.

Hiddleston’s version of Loki wasn’t killed but rather sent to a purgatory where other variations of Lokis exist, including Richard E Grant’s more traditional God of Mischief. Details are still slim on Grant’s version of the God of Mischief but it’s likely that he’ll be more in line with the traditional comic version thanks to the suit he’s wearing. The final two episodes should clarify where exactly Grant’s variant comes from, and how he and the rest of the variants factor into the series.
