Megan Fox Opens Up About Being ‘Overlooked’ For Any Comedy Roles Because Of Her Good Looks
There is absolutely no doubt that Megan Fox is one of the most beautiful women ever, but that is not to say she is not a very skilled actress as well! Unfortunately, however, many in Hollywood, as well as in our society, are yet to understand that!
It’s no secret that Megan Fox has been overlooked and treated unfairly, even demonized at times in the acting industry, all because of her looks!

For the longest time, she also went with it, being, more often than not, typecast as the mean hot girl in projects such as the iconic Jennifer’s Body and in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, in which she starred opposite Lindsay Lohan!
However, she is much more than just her looks and she would have loved to get the opportunity to show that on screen!
Unfortunately for her, Megan says that she has always been overlooked for roles in comedies because of her status as a sex symbol.

In a new Washington Post article, Fox opened up about that and more!
She started by explaining that ‘I think there’s been a pervasive perception of me as just a shallow succubus, if that makes sense, for at least the first decade of my career.’
Fortunately, however, the times have changed a lot and most people today see her differently!
‘Then, that started to change more recently as people revisited some of my interviews, listened to me speak and began to see me in a different way. I was so lost and really trying to understand how am I supposed to feel any value or find any purpose in this horrendous, patriarchal and misogynistic hell that was Hollywood at the time. Because I’d already been speaking out against it and everybody, including other women, received me in a really negative way for doing it. I was never established as even having been talented. People were surprised I was funny at all.’
Furthermore, aside from ‘being overlooked for my ability to handle comedy, I have always been surprised by how easy it was for others to overlook that I am relatively intelligent,’ despite the sheer number of interviews that proved she’d always been a very smart person!
