Gillian Jacobs, Darrell Britt-Gibson & More

As a horror fan – especially one who appreciates a good “slasher flick” – I was more than a little surprised at how much I enjoyed Fear Street Part One: 1994. And unlike a ton of other horror sequels, the continuation that is Fear Street Part Two: 1978 continues to bring this genre lover a ton of joy. Whether it’s the fact that it takes place the year the original Halloween came out, or it’s the killer in the woods atmosphere that I loved with the Friday the 13th films, the Fear Street trilogy is hitting all the right marks. The characters are impressive, the setting is great, the kills are effective, and just the overall energy is infectious. And yes, this Friday, you all get to experience the continuation of filmmaker Leigh Janiak’s impressive Netflix trilogy celebrating all things horror.

This week, our interviews with the cast continue. This time out we spoke to Gillian Jacobs, Ashley Zukerman, and Darrell Britt-Gibson, and the three opened up about their own relationship with the work of R.L. Stine. While Ms. Jacobs has been involved with thrillers before, it’s still great to see her in a straight-up horror flick, especially after her fantastic run on the popular series Community. What is slightly tricky about this series is the fact that it would be very easy to spoil certain information, and that wouldn’t be a whole lot of fun for the viewers. This makes certain subjects difficult to discuss, but it was easy to see that Zukerman and Britt-Gibson really dug taking on the project – as did Ms. Jacobs – and the cast is a big reason that the trilogy is as successful as it is.
