Gabriel Luna shares BTS image as production begins

The Last of Us, HBO, Gabriel Luna, TV series, production

It’s taken a lot of planning and hard work, but production for HBO’s The Last of Us is finally underway. To mark the occasion Gabriel Luna, who plays Tommy in the live-action TV series adaptation, shared a sweet family photo with his Instagram followers. The photo features members of the Miller family, including Joel (Pedro Pascal), his daughter Sarah (Nico Parker), brother Tommy (Luna), as well as two enthusiastic members of the crew. While they’re all smiles in the photo, you can be sure that the events of The Last of Us will have them frowning before long.

“Already love these folks. #MillerTime #thelastofus,” Luna captioned the photo on Instagram.

The Last of Us video game focuses on the relationship between Joel, a smuggler, and Ellie, a teenager who may be the key to a cure for a deadly pandemic. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle the 14-year-old girl out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

Game of Thrones standout Bella Ramsey will play Ellie in the upcoming series.

The Last of Us hails from Chernobyl Emmy winners Craig Mazin and Carolyn Strauss. The duo will executive produce alongside the games’ creative director Neil Druckmann. It’s been said that the TV series will follow the events of the first game. If the show proves to be a success, HBO is interested in producing more seasons, which will likely include story elements from 202’s The Last of Us Part II.
