The beloved longtime day-time talk show Ellen is coming to an end. After weathering a rocky year of toxic workplace allegations and filming from home, The Ellen DeGeneres Show has announced the 19th season will be its final run.
Ellen made the cancellation announcement herself, with no words on the allegations. Instead, the popular host cited “I’m a creative person, and when you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged,”“I just needed something to challenge me. And as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore. I need something new to challenge me.” Ellen’s decision comes in the wake of reports about The Ellen DeGeneres Show allegedly being a toxic work environment for employees and accusations about her alleged behavior on set. Many wondered whether or not the show would get cancelled. Ellen has taken the lead on the speculations and decided to bring the show to an end on her terms.
