Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, has Marvel Studios Chief Kevin Feige saying “We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”
Production has begun on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in Atlanta, Georgia. In December 2020, Feige confirmed that Chadwick Boseman’s iconic character would not be re-cast. “It’s clearly very emotional without Chad,” Feige has stated to outlets. He goes on to say “But everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”
As we hold our breath for the upcoming sequel to a film that took the world by storm, another point of view into the world of Wakanda is underway. With Marvel series continuing to gain popularity on Disney+, Black Panther fans will see more of Wakanda, through an upcoming television series focusing on Danai Gurira. She will reprise her role as the general of the Dora Milaje in an (as of now) untitled spinoff series by Ryan Coogler for Disney+.
The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to be released on July 8, 2022. Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Winston Duke (M’Baku), and Daniel Kaluuya (W’Kabi) are all expected to return for the sequel.
