Trailer Watch: Kristen Bell & Kirby Howell-Baptiste Are “Queenpins” of a Counterfeit Coupon Ring

“The system has set us up to fail. You know who gets rewarded? People who don’t follow the rules. It’s time we start bending them,” says Kristen Bell in a new trailer for “Queenpins.” Inspired by a true story, the comedy sees Connie (Bell), a suburban homemaker, facing a mountain of debt and taking extreme measures to transform her life. She teams up with her best friend JoJo (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), a vlogger, to turn their hobby into a multi-million dollar scheme that breaks every rule in the book.

Connie and JoJo launch a counterfeit coupon ring that scams corporations and delivers deals to consumers. “It’s like Robin Hood,” JoJo explains.

An alumna of “Veronica Mars” and “The Good Place,” Bell’s big screen credits include “Frozen” and “Bad Moms.”

Howell-Baptiste also appeared in “Veronica Mars” and “The Good Place.” “Why Women Kill” and “Barry” are among her other credits.

Written and directed by Gita Pullapilly and Aron Gaudet, “Queenpins” hits theaters September 10 and will also stream on Paramount+.

Pullapilly and Gaudet’s other credits include 2013 feature “Beneath the Harvest Sky” and 2009 doc “The Way We Get By.”
