Forget everything you think you know about Tom Holland’s Spider-Man because it looks like Marvel’s web-slinging hero is set to get a Doctor Strange upgrade. Today, Marvel.com posted a first-look at brand-new Spidey Funkos, figures, and more. The rollout, which includes new toys from Funko, Marvel Legends, and Nerf, previews some of the new suits coming in SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME. In addition to a black suit with gold trim, a new Funko figure suggests that Spidey will be wielding powers used by the Sorcerer Supreme at some point in the new film.
Now, to be clear, it has not been confirmed that Spidey will be getting Doctor Strange-like powers in the upcoming film. However, this wouldn’t be the first time that a new toy line preview spoils a surprise. With Spider-Man: No Way Home promising more over-the-top Spidey action than ever before, the web-slinger may cast a spell or two of his own.
As you can see from the image posted above, the new round of Funko Pop! figures for Spider-Man: No Way Home also includes toys for Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), MJ (Zendaya), and Ned (Jacob Batalon).
Spider-Man: No Way Home is shaping up to be something unique as it will be bursting the multiverse doors of the Marvel Cinematic Universe wide open. In addition to Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Alfred Molina, the Spider-Man sequel will also see Jamie Foxx returning as Electro, and there have also been frequent rumblings that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield would be reprising their Spider-Man roles as well. Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently slated for a December 17, 2021 release.
