Tom Hiddleston’s ‘Loki’ Has A Major Time Keepers Reveal In Episode 4
The identities of the Time Keepers were finally revealed in the fourth episode of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki.
THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR LOKI.
Much has been said and theorized about the omniscient and ethereal Time Keepers. Despite controlling and monitoring the flow of time and various timelines, it was a bit odd that they had never made an appearance prior to Loki. After all, the Time Keepers are responsible for every little decision made, right down to Thanos snapping away 50% of all life forms in the universe. Just by virtue of holding so much power over the events of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has made them a fan-favorite topic to discuss these last few weeks. Well, in the latest episode of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, the identities of the Time Keepers were revealed and it’s shocking.
As the episode inches towards its finale, Sylvie and Loki are granted an audience with the Time Keepers just before they’re sent to die. Luckily, they manage to escape thanks to Hunter B-15, who realizes that they’re a variant and practically have no agency outside of what the Time Keepers have allowed them to do. Now free, Sylvie hurls a weapon at one of the Time Keepers, decapitating them. Where there should have been blood or a binding liquid is sparks. As the head rolls over, Loki and Sylvie realize that the Time Keepers are just a bunch of robots, a front for whoever is actually controlling the flow of time. It’s clear that someone else is pulling the strings and these versions of the Time Keepers are just an illusion like The Wizard of Oz to paint larger-than-life figures who can instill fear into those who doubt.
