Ryan Reynolds Wishes To ‘De-Stigmatize’ Mental Health For The Sake Of His And Blake Lively’s Daughters!
While opening up about his struggles with loneliness and feeling really down sometimes, Ryan Reynolds stressed that it is really ‘important to talk about’ mental health. The actor mentioned that he really wants to de-stigmatize this topic for the sake of his young ones.
That’s right! During a new interview, Reynolds shared that he wishes to be a ‘model’ for his daughters and one of the ways to do it is to be as open as possible about his own struggles.

At the end of the day, however, he wants everyone to be just as open, for a better world.
While chatting with ET, he stated that ‘Part of it is that I have 3 daughters at home and part of my whole job as a parent is to model their behaviors and model what it is like to be sad and model what it is like to be anxious, or angry. That there is space for all these things. The home I grew in, that was not modeled for me really. And that is not to say that my parents were neglectful, but they come from a very different generation.’
He went on to say that ‘Part of that is to de-stigmatize things and create a conversation about [mental health]. I know when I felt at the absolute bottom it is usually been because I felt like I was alone in something that I was feeling. I think when people talk about it, I do not necessarily dwell on it, but I think it is important to talk about it. When you talk about it, it sort of sets other people free. ‘Oh, he is feeling that and so am I.’ And even though we might be in 2 different fields or might have 2 completely different lives, it connects us in a way.’
