But that was not all! The 76-year-old man also used this opportunity to start more drama, this time directed at Oprah Winfrey!
According to him, the famous TV personality who interviewed Meghan and Harry not too long ago exploited them for her own gain!
While chatting with the host of the Australian TV show 60 Minutes, Thomas revealed the way that he learned about the birth of his granddaughter, making it very clear that it wasn’t Meghan who shared the big news.
‘No phone calls. I just heard it on the radio,’ Thomas revealed.
He also commented on the baby’s moniker, mentioning that ‘Lili is a perfect name, and the other thing that makes me so very happy is that now there is a lot more Markle blood in the royal family . All that I can say is I hope I eventually get to, sometime see these grandchildren of mine because I am a pretty good grandpa.’
As for his comments on the bombshell Oprah interview, Thomas stated that ‘The only person benefitting from this is Oprah Winfrey.’
When asked to clarify whether or not he thought Oprah exploited his daughter and son in law, Thomas did not hesitate to respond that: ‘Yes, I do…that is just my opinion. It seems to me she is pushing it to get more and more out of it.’
