Marvel Studios & DC Films Skipping San Diego Comic-Con@Home

The virtual event will take place on July 23-25.

Marvel Studios and DC Films will both be absent from this year’s San Diego [email protected] taking place later this month.

It’s been a while since Marvel Studios and DC Films took the stage at Hall H. Last year, the San Diego [email protected] virtual event was created in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and neither studio made an appearance. According to Deadline, the virtual event will be back this year, but Marvel Studios and DC Films will not be showing face at the 2021 edition despite having projects on the horizon.

There’s no word on if Sony will be attending San Diego [email protected] just yet, so we could get looks at Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Morbius, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. DC will have a presence at the event with Legends of Tomorrow and the publishing side. DC FanDome is also making a return this October and an in-person San Diego Comic-Con will take place over Thanksgiving weekend.

Meanwhile, Marvel Studios will release Black Widow later this week:

In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller “Black Widow,” Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.

Directed by Cate Shortland from a script written by Eric Pearson based on a story by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson, the Marvel film stars Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, Ray Winstone, Olivier Richters, and Rachel Weisz.

Black Widow hits theaters and Disney Plus this Friday. Stay tuned for all the latest news on upcoming conventions and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
