James Gunn Reveals What Song He Won’t Put In ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’

Director James Gunn has revealed which song he will never put in one of his Guardians of the Galaxy films.

When Guardians of the Galaxy was first announced many fans were otherwise confused. While the Marvel Cinematic Universe had made its name turning B-List Marvel heroes into household names, an adaptation of this particular team seemed like a long shot. Nonetheless, the James Gunn film clicked with audiences and critics in ways that no one expected and is considered to be one of the better films in the entire universe.

The soundtrack for the films has arguably had a lot to do with Guardians of the Galaxy‘s success and James Gunn is very particular about what makes it into his films and what doesn’t. One fan opted to ask James Gunn what song/artist that people keep asking him to put into his films that he would never do. The answer  was Dancing in the Moonlight by King Harvest:

“A thousand people have told me they want ‘Dancing in the Moonlight’ in a Guardians movie & it seems hackneyed to me so it’s not gonna happen.”

What do you all make of James Gunn’s words? Are you sad to hear that Dancing in the Moonlite won’t make it into a Guardians of the Galaxy film? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

James Gunn is currently on pre-production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, with filming set to begin later this year. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Sean Gunn.
