Jack Dylan Grazer Praises The Comedy In ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’
Jack Dylan Grazer has nothing but positive things to say about Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
One of the most exciting films DC has in its upcoming slate is Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The direct sequel to the 2019 smash hit, Fury of the Gods is set to introduce a flurry of new characters and expand upon the existing mythos of the Gods. What made Shazam! so interesting was its interesting blend of the coming-of-age comedy and a traditional superhero film. While films like those at Marvel have always been funny, Shazam! posited itself as a comedy right from the start. It turns out that the sequel, according to Jack Dylan Grazer, is going to double down on the laughs.
While promoting Pixar and Disney’s Luca, Jack Dylan Grazer chatted with Comicbook.com about what Shazam! Fury of the Gods holds for fans. Dylan Grazer didn’t go into explicit details but he praised the film’s comedy, the freedom he and the rest of the cast have on set, as well as the new slew of actors who have joined the team.
“I’m in Atlanta right now filming Shazam 2 and it’s going wonderfully. It’s so fun. [Zachary Levi]’s new costume is awesome. This one is so funny and we really got a lot of freedom in this one. We’re able to get away with a lot. It’s really fun. Great cast, Helen Mirren is in it. Rachel Zegler from the new West Side Story, Lucy Liu. It’s a great cast.”

Here is the official synopsis for the first Shazam! movie:
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quick.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Djimon Hounsou.
Shazam! is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content!
