The two put an end to their romance in December of 2020 and Dove did not hesitate to admit that losing Thomas left her in a really dark place while chatting with Entertainment Tonight.

‘I went through a really public breakup last year, and was in a really bad place, like a really, very bad place,’ she shared.

What made this even worse for her was that it happened during the pandemic so while this was going on in her life, she remained at home in isolation, with no way to get to her usual support system of friends and family.

‘I was alone, and it was during the pandemic. No one could come out and see me and I couldn’t leave Canada, and everything was shut down. So I was really struggling to work through that. The breakup f***ed me up. It was really hard, and I needed something that was going to get me from where I was, in the mourning process, into the other side.’

Thankfully, she still had a way to cope with the pain and that was through music!

The actress channelled all of her sadness in her new single titled LazyBaby, a song she would describe as ‘kind of satirical, comedic, [and] uplifting.’

Dove even told the outlet that her ex actually loves the song and listens to it all the time!

‘I sent it to him before it came out, and he still sends me voice notes all the time.’

With that being said, she confirmed that even now, their relationship is ‘very amicable’ and that they still ‘love each other so much.’
