Anne Hathaway has escaped lockdown and is set to lead another book adaptation. She’s following up “Locked Down” and  “The Witches” by signing on to “The Idea of You,” based on Robinne Lee’s novel of the same name. Amazon Studios and Welle Entertainment are developing the project. Deadline broke the news.

Set to be written by “Younger” actress and “Friends with Kids” writer-director Jennifer Westfeldt, the pic will tell the story of Sophie, a 40-year-old divorced mother. “Sophie’s husband Dan left her for a younger woman, and now he has cancelled his Coachella trip with their 15-year old daughter. Sophie picks up the pieces and braves the crowds and desert heat. There, she meets 24 year-old Hayes Campbell, the lead singer of the hottest boy band on the planet, August Moon,” the source teases.

Cathy Schulman will produce via her Welle Entertainment shingle along with Gabrielle Union and her production banner I’ll Have Another.

A two-time Oscar nominee, Hathaway landed nods for “Rachel Getting Married” and “Les Misérables” and won for the latter. She most recently appeared in Roald Dahl adaptation “The Witches,” COVID-19 heist thriller “Locked Down,” and Amazon anthology series “Solos.” Her upcoming slate includes Rebecca Miller comedy “She Came to Me” and “WeCrashed,” an Apple TV+ series charting the rise and fall of WeWork.

“Kissing Jessica Stein” and “Ira & Abby” are among Westfeldt’s other writing credits.
