Ryan Reynolds shares first look at his Christmas movie with Will Ferrell
Nearly two years after it was first announced, it seems that the cameras have finally started rolling on Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell’s upcoming Christmas movie for Apple TV. Reynolds shared the first image of himself alongside Will Ferrell on the set of Spirited on Twitter, but also couldn’t resist taking a shot at Apple itself.
Day 1 shooting with one of my comedy idols, Will Ferrell. You’d barely notice this was an @Apple movie!

Spirited will be a modern musical rendition of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The film is being directed by Sean Anders (Daddy’s Home), who also co-wrote the script alongside John Morris (Instant Family). Both Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell are also producing the project, which also stars Octavia Spencer and Sunita Mani. There have been many different adaptations of Dicken’s classic holiday story over the years, but I’ve got my fingers crossed that Reynolds and Ferrell will be able to give us something special.
Even after all these years, my absolute favourite adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is Scrooge, the 1951 film starring Alastair Sim in the title role. What about you? Which adapation of A Christmas Carol is your favourite?
